Harry Gwala District Municipality, in partnership with The Independent Electoral Commission(IEC), gathered at the Umzimkhulu TVET College in Commemoration of Women's month

The event was aimed at capacitating women on ways to empower themselves, occupy their roles in civil societies, political sphere,economic and social development. Women from different walks of life gathered in high spirits to celebrate their heroic involvement in society as a whole. On behalf of women in the Harry Gwala District, Deputy Mayor of Harry Gwala District Municipality Cllr TN. Jojozi was one of the panelists of the day. Amongst other attendees was the Mayor of Umzimkhulu Local Municipality, Cllr J. Msiya, management and officials of IEC and Harry Gwala District Municipality.Women from different walks of life gathered in high spirits to celebrate their heroic involvement in society as a whole. Msiya, management and officials of IEC and Harry Gwala District Municipality.In her message of support, Mrs Masinga, who is the Provincial Electoral Officer encouraged women to support and build each other in all aspects of life. She further stated that women are the backbone of the nation. Cllr T.N Jojozi who was tasked to focus more on the role of young women, famously known as ama 2k' in democratic processes on her keynote address, where she said; “There is more gap to be filled by young women in the development and improvement of South Africa as a whole.
