A decade of the Harry Gwala District Marathon was celebrated today at the finish line at uMzimkhulu FET in Sayidi. The race was won by Sinethemba Tshangase from Umzimkhulu who ran the 42.2km run and will be walking away with an amazing R60 000 for first position and his finishing time was 02:20:48. The second runner up was Ntsindiso Mphakathi whose finishing time was 02:21:01 and Sphamandla Nkosi coming in 3rd position his time was 02:21:13.

The ladies 42.2km race champion was Rholex Kogo coming all the way from Kenya, who also walked away with an amount of R60 000 with her finishing time being 02:42:11. Second position being taken by Jenet Mbhele she walked away with R30 000 at 02:49:59 and 3rd place was Nobukhosi Tshuma who received R15 000 with her 02:53:21 finishing time.
