Dear Harry Gwala District Community and Employees
17 April 2025
As we approach the Easter holidays, a time for reconnecting with loved ones and attending church services, I want to remind everyone traveling to exercise caution and follow the rules of the road.
Unfortunately, a recent tragic incident on the R68 road near Black Store (Ophepheni) resulted in the loss of three lives from the Mthembu family, with two others injured. Our district sends condolences to the family during this difficult time.
We urge all road users to be vigilant and take regular breaks when traveling long distances. Please prioritize your safety and the safety of others.
Please note that the Municipal offices will close at 11 am on Thursday, the 17th of April 2025, except for essential service departments.
To our employees, we encourage you to rest and recharge during this period, returning refreshed and ready to work hard.
Wishing you a safe and joyous Easter Weekend, for emergencies please contact our offices.
