The event was aimed at capacitating women on ways to empower themselves, occupy their roles in civil societies, political sphere,economic and social development. Women from different walks of life gathered in high spirits to celebrate their heroic involvement in society as a whole. On behalf of women in the Harry Gwala District, Deputy Mayor of Harry Gwala District Municipality Cllr TN. Jojozi was one of the panelists of the day. Amongst other attendees was the Mayor of Umzimkhulu Local Municipality, Cllr J. She further stated that women are the backbone of the nation. Cllr T.N Jojozi who was tasked to focus more on the role of young women, famously known as ama 2k' in democratic processes on her keynote address, where she said; “There is more gap to be filled by young women in the development and improvement of South Africa as a whole.
