Harry Gwala District Municipality Celebrates Matric Success

- HARRY GWALA DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY CELEBRATES MATRIC SUCCESS. The Harry Gwala District Municipality is beaming with pride as it congratulates the District Matric Class of 2024 on their outstanding achievement. The Department of Education in KwaZulu-Natal during the provincial release of the 2024 National Senior certificate result at Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC), Durban, announced an impressive 88.9% pass rate, marking a significant improvement from the previous year's 87.1% pass rate. The District Mayor, Cllr. Zamo Nxumalo extended his warmest congratulations to the matriculants, teachers, principals, school governing bodies, and parents on the above remarkable achievement. “This is indeed a clear indication of hard work and dedication not only from pupils but also from teachers, principals, school governing bodies, as well as support from parents," he said. The Mayor, Nxumalo further acknowledged the tireless efforts of educators who have put in countless hours to ensure the success of their students. He also offered words of encouragement to those who did not perform well, urging them not to give up but to try again. As the new academic year commences, Mayor Nxumalo wished all pupils who returned to school this week the best of luck. "Work hard and aim high. Remember that education is the key to success. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours," he said. The Harry Gwala District Municipality's impressive matric results are a testament to the hard work and commitment of all stakeholders involved.
